Water System Operators Public drinking water systems are required to have Certified Operators per the Safe Drinking Water Act and Water Supply Rule. The purpose of Certification is to assure the qualification of Water System Operators. Guidance, Practices and Procedures including Bulk Water Hauling practice and How to Hire an Operator guidance. Applications, Forms and Tools including sampling plan forms, official contact updating and boils water advisory notices. Samples taken for the monitoring of drinking water needs to be analyzed by a Certified Lab. Information about Federal and State Rules and Regulations. Operators are required to sample for a myriad constituents, including but not limited to the Total Coliform, Disinfection Byproducts (DBP), and the Lead and Copper. Operators are required to take initial and ongoing training. They are also required to pass an exam for their desired certification level before they can be fully certified. |
